Outlook global address book not updating

I've tried my credentials, domain admin credentials, and nothing but http 401.1.I've verified the permissions on the file on the Exchange server, verified permissions in IIS 6.0 and things look OK.While you may have sorted your Contacts folder the way you want it to, the Address Book in Outlook has its own sorting mechanism. The separation can be quite confusing some times and the options which control the sorting order aren’t all located in the same location either, which can make things even more confusing.

A local Outlook Contact will override the local Lync Address Book.No other sorting mechanism would allow for this system. As it is basically a free-form field for each contact item and its default is set to Last, First, it is a great alternative way to sort your Address Book to your liking or simply switch your Address Book sorting order from First Last to Last, First. You can see the list of attributes that will be put into the GAL using When Outlook users are running in cached mode, they rely on the Offline Address Book (OAB) to provide them with access to one or more addresses (that are always available when they are connected directly to Exchange) The OAB is rebuilt and downloaded on a default schedule as shown below.Because of this, a new user may not be visible in the address book, or changes to a user’s name, address, etc. This document seeks to address and clarify the small misunderstanding surrounding the GAL (Global Address List) and the OAB (Offline Address Book).
